Health - Who Wants An Asthma Cure?

Who Wants An Asthma Cure?

I was out to breakfast with a friend recently and she showed me pictures
of her 3 year-old niece.

I said that she was adorable, and my friend said, “Yes, she is. But I feel so bad for her. They just found out she has asthma, poor thing.”
Unfortunately, illnesses like this in young children are WAY too common these days.
Asthma has become one of the most common chronic diseases in children. According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, asthma affects over 9 million children in the US alone.
But it seems EVERYONE is getting it. It’s becoming as common as a sore throat, for heaven’s sake.
From 1980 to 1995, adult-onset asthma rates in the US for adults between the ages of 35 and 64 increased over 60%. And it’s not showing any signs of slowing down.
The CDC has reported that asthma cases among adults grew by 4.3 million from 2001 to 2009!
Adult onset asthma is more difficult to diagnose than asthma in kids because many adults have other underlying medical conditions (heart problems, acid reflux, emphysema) that may cause similar symptoms.
But regardless of whether it’s in a child or adult, the question remains:
Why?
Why are SO many adults and kids getting asthma these days?
Well, here are 3 possibilities.
I call them “The 3 Asthma Culprits”

Asthma culprit #1- Imbalanced gut microflora
Studies show one of the culprits behind the sharp rise in asthma lies not in the lungs, but in the gut.
Scientists have been studying the relationship between the beneficial and harmful bacteria in your gut and asthma symptoms, and their research shows a BIG connection.
Here’s why:
Asthma is an inflammatory condition.
Normally, your airways shouldn’t get inflamed when they’re exposed to things like harmless environmental organisms and changes in the temperature.
But in people with asthma, that’s precisely what happens.
What that means is their body’s anti-inflammatory mechanism isn’t working properly.
Now, beneficial bacteria in the gut (probiotics) help your immune system develop helpful cells called regulatory T cells. These are white blood cells that travel all through your body and reduce inflammation…kind of like a fire fighter putting out fires.
So if someone doesn’t have enough probiotic bacteria in their system, their level of helpful T cells goes down. This makes them more likely to experience inflammatory responses that they normally should not have, including asthmatic responses.
In addition, numerous studies have been performed that show the development of asthma follows very closely with decreases in the population of probiotics in the guts of the people studied.

Asthma culprit #2- Lack of antioxidants
Oh, the wrath of the typical fast food, processed food and soda diet continues to grow.
Add asthma on to the list of ways these so-called “foods” violate your health.
First and foremost, “foods” like these feed the harmful bacteria in your gut (while starving the good guys). This can encourage asthma symptoms through the gut connection mentioned in number 1 above.
In addition, these so-called foods are completely lacking the naturally occurring vitamins, minerals and antioxidants found in real foods.
And that, my friend, can cost you from head to toe and in your lungs.
Studies show that people who eat foods higher in Vitamins C and E, beta-carotene, flavonoids, magnesium and selenium have lower rates of asthma. Many of these substances are antioxidants, which protect your cells from damage and inflammation.
One recent study of asthma and diet showed that teens with poor nutrition were more likely to have asthma symptoms. Those who didn’t get enough fruits and vegetables were the most likely to have poor lung function.
On the flip side, a 2007 study showed that children who grew up eating a Mediterranean type diet (which is high in nuts and foods like grapes, apples and tomatoes) were FAR LESS likely to have asthma symptoms.
But here’s an important point: The studies also showed that supplementing with vitamins and minerals did not have the same protective effect against asthma that eating the natural food sources of nutrients had.
In other words: Your nutrients should NOT come from a pill. Your body knows the difference.

Asthma culprit #3- Lack of Omega-3 essential fatty acids
Not only are our diets grossly deficient in nutrients and antioxidants like I mentioned in number 2 above, but we’re not getting the Omega-3 essential fatty acids that we need either.
Omega-3 essential fatty acids are one of your body’s natural anti-inflammatory agents…and since asthma is an inflammatory process, that’s not good.
Adding to that is the fact that the typical modern diet is LOADED with inflammation-causing Omega-6 EFAs, which studies suggest may WORSEN asthma symptoms.

So what can you do? Fight the 3 asthma culprits of course!
If you or someone you love suffers from asthma, let me be the bearer of good news: You can safely and naturally get relief from asthma.
Without the dangerous side effects of medications!
Here’s how you can help fight the 3 asthma culprits:
1- Take a top shelf probiotic supplement
Probiotics help with asthma naturally from within…encouraging your body to learn to react more normally to environmental factors without an inflammatory response.
Super Shield multi-strain probiotic formula was designed with asthma sufferers in mind.
Super Shield contains Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Bifidobacterium lactis, both of which have been heavily studied and shown to be helpful to asthma and eczema sufferers.
Plus, Super Shield’s 11 other strains work synergistically with L. rhamnosus and B. lactis to strengthen your immune system and encourage the development of more inflammation-fighting T cells.
In addition, Super Shield can help encourage better digestion and proper nutrient absorption…so you have a better chance of absorbing whatever vitamins, minerals and protective antioxidants you get in your diet.
Learn all the ways Super Shield can help you here.

2- Eat foods that digest & absorb efficiently
There’s no getting around it–in order to have any degree of good health (including healthy lungs), you MUST get the nutrients and antioxidants your body needs from REAL foods.
And part 2 of that is your digestion must be efficient in order to actually ABSORB those vital nutrients!
And if all that sounds about as exciting to you as watching paint dry, not to worry.
I can help you achieve both of those goals (and love every bite) with the Great Taste No Pain system or if you’re gluten-challenged, Great Taste No Gluten.
Both Great Taste No Pain and Great Taste No Gluten show you what foods to eat (and what foods to pair together) to keep digestion smooth and nutrient absorption high.
Plus, they’re loaded with delicious ideas featuring real foods that you’ll absolutely LOVE — there are no bland or boring dishes in my recipe books! I challenge anyone to find a dish in these books that isn’t among the best — if not THE best — tasting food they’ve ever eaten in the respective categories.

3- Supplement with Omega-3 essential fatty acids
The Omega-6 and Omega-3 essential fatty acids (EFAs) in your body work to stir up and then reduce inflammation.
You see, Omega-6 EFAs activate your body’s defense mechanisms like blood clotting, inflammation and allergic reactions, and you need those during emergencies such as when you sustain an injury or ingest something dangerous.
Then when the “emergency” is over, Omega-3 EFAs come in and cool down inflammation, produce calmness in your nervous system and reduce cholesterol and clotting in the blood.
This system works perfectly as long as you have about a 5:1 ratio of Omega-6:Omega-3 EFAs in your body.
But the typical American has truckloads of inflammation-causing Omega-6 fatty acids in our acid-forming diets but not nearly enough Omega-3s, causing our ratios to skyrocket to 20:1 or higher.
And we have the inflammatory conditions (including asthma) to prove it!
But you can help reduce inflammation dramatically and fight asthma by replenishing your Omega-3 supply with a top flight fish oil formula like VitalMega-3.
Just 2 capsules a day gives you a full 1,000 mg. each of the necessary Omega-3 essential fatty acids (known as EPA and DHA), which is the dose that has been recommended by experts to help bring your Omega EFAs into a more proper balance.

Asthma is making life miserable for increasing numbers of people, but that doesn’t mean that you’re completely defenseless against it.
When you give your body the help it needs from within and fight the 3 asthma culprits, you could be breathing a whole lot easier.
And possibly needing less or no medication at all!
Wouldn’t THAT be nice?

Sherry,
I have to share with you my latest blood work results. You can share them if you want.
Not only have I been able to manage my heartburn, but also my asthma and now my cholesterol. My cholesterol level went from 199 to 159 within 3 months! The doctor took me off simvastatin and will watch it over the next few months.
So, I’m off the purple pill, the asthma medicine, and the cholesterol drugs.
Besides that, my weight is holding steady at 130 and I feel great. The only medications I am on is thyroid. Not bad for 67!
All I need now is to get off my lazy butt and pump up the exercise!
Thanks for all your help.
Frances
